Health Minister awarded a doctor Rs. 200,000 for winning 29 gold medals in MBBS

Hafiz Muhammad Waleed Malik, an MBBS graduate from Ameer Uddin Medical College Lahore, sets a new academic record with 29 gold medals.

Prior to that, a female from King Edwards Medical College held the record with 23 gold medals.

Dr. Hafiz recently received a Rs200,000 check from Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel.

In a recent ceremony, the health minister stated that doctors like Hafiz Muhammad Waleed are a national asset who should be encouraged.

Obtaining more than 85% marks, the highest numbers, or the top position in each semester are the criteria for receiving a gold medal.

Talking to private news channel, Waleed said: “In starting I was struggling but then gradually I got succeeded after hard work.”

Notably, Dr Waleed went viral on social media after netizens chastised Pakistani media for failing to promote the country’s true talent.
