A top aide confirmed Israel accepted a US-proposed deal. US President Joe Biden advanced the plan. Despite this, Israel bombarded Gaza on Sunday. Palestinian deaths reached 36,439. The Gaza health ministry reported this. They also reported 82,627 injuries since October 2023. They aim to destroy Hamas. Hamas wants a permanent war end to free prisoners.

Ophir Falk, Netanyahu’s adviser, spoke to the Sunday Times. He said Israel agreed to Biden’s proposal.

He added Israel wants all prisoners released. Falk admitted many details still needed work.

Biden praised multiple ceasefire proposals. These plans have not succeeded. Israel wants only temporary pauses in fighting.

UAE’s president and Qatar’s emir discussed Biden’s proposal. The UAE’s state news agency reported this.

Mediators Push for Gaza Peace as Hamas and Israel Clash

The US, Qatar, and Egypt are helping Israel and Hamas talk. They want both sides to agree on Biden’s plan.

Hamas said they might agree, but they have some conditions. They want to stop the fighting in Gaza and want the invading forces to leave.

Hamas also wants Palestinians to move freely and get help to rebuild.

An Israeli leader, Yair Lapid, thinks a deal is a good idea. But some other Israeli leaders don’t agree. They think it might bring back the old problems from before October 7.

Israel’s defense minister said Hamas should not control Gaza. They are looking for other options instead of Hamas.

Yoav Gallant talked about military actions. He said they are thinking about a new government to take over from Hamas.

There was lots of fighting in Gaza. The Israeli military said they did air strikes and ground battles. They hit 30 places, including where weapons are stored.

Big fights happened in southern Rafah. Israel didn’t listen to worries about people who had to leave their homes. The UN said all the shelters in Rafah are now empty.

Almost a million people left the city. The UN said there is less and less safe space for people. About 1.7 million people are now staying in southern Gaza.

People are looking for safe places in Khan Yunis and nearby areas.

People saw strong Israeli attacks. Helicopters fired in central Rafah. Jets dropped bombs on a house in Tal al-Sultan.

Big guns fired in the southern Brazil neighborhood.

Israel agreed to a deal from Biden to end the war. The deal aims to free prisoners. Fighting and problems in Gaza are still happening.
