Hackers supposedly responsible for PM office audio leaks arrested

On Monday, officials detained two hackers who were reportedly responsible for the leaks from the Prime Minister’s office. According to reports, an intelligence agency detained the hackers, one of them is from Rawalpindi and connected to a local university, while the other hails from a place in central Punjab.

A national security agency, which is conducting an inquiry, has been given both of the hackers.

According to other reports, the CIA is asking them about their handlers.

They had been in touch with the PM’s office security people, and it is anticipated that they would all soon be detained as well.

The leaked information includes a number of audio recordings of talks involving significant government players, including Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, and Maryam Nawaz, the head of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN), among others.

In a matter of eight days, a number of audio recordings from the current administration, including those of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and previous PM Imran Khan, have been published on social media.

A top official and PM Shehbaz Sharif are said to have discussed Maryam Nawaz’s request to bring a power plant from India for her son-in-law in the first recording, which was released last Saturday.

Two more audios were posted online later on Sunday.

Imran Khan’s second tape about the diplomatic cypher was released on September 30 after the first recording connected to the topic was leaked on September 28.
