GTA 6 is being set for late 2025. Rockstar Games‘ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, said on Thursday that the much expected video game “Grand Theft Auto VI” will be released in the autumn of 2025.

Rockstar had said before that the following game in the renowned series would be out next year, but provided no other specifics.

The “narrowing” of the release stemmed from earnings numbers from New York-based Take-Two, but no firm date has been set.

“Consumer anticipation for the title is unprecedented and our expectations for its commercial success continue to increase,” stated Take-Two. However, management avoided inquiries regarding GTA VI on an earnings call.

“Rockstar hasn’t given any details about what its expectations are for the release,” Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told analysts.

“A wonderful trailer that they put out broke the internet and more news will come from Rockstar in the fullness of time.”

Fictitious Vice City

The clip shows GTA 6 located in a fictitious Vice City similar to Miami, and it appears to contain the series’s first playable female character.

The GTA 6 teaser, set to Tom Petty’s “Love Is A Long Road,” begins with a female character named Lucia being freed from prison in what appears to be a fictionalised version of Florida.

Near the end of the one-minute and thirty-second trailer, she advises her male companion in crime, “The only way we are going to get through this is by sticking together, being a team.”

The couple then burst into a business, pistols drawn and bandanas covering their lower parts of faces.
