A recent ruling has led Gilgit-Baltistan to decide to create its own IT Board. The development of an IT board received approval from the government of GB at its most recent meeting on June 27.
Azam Khan, the GB Secretary IT, recognized the provincial cabinet’s approval of the IT Board in a media interview.
He said that the Draft Act had been approved by the GB Cabinet and that the GB Assembly would now vote on it. The IT Board would then be informed after that.
For this objective, the government has allocated about 200 million rupees. Khalid Khurshid, the chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, expressed personal interest in the effort.
The National Information Technology Board’s (NITB) director-general, Faisal Iqbal, applauded the GB government’s action.
He reassured everyone present that the NITB will support the GB government wholeheartedly in this matter.
It was a “historic stride,” according to Osman Nasir, managing director of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB).
He stated in his letter that he was encouraged by the efforts being made by the Gilgit-Baltistan government to train and hire young people for the IT industry.
It was especially useful in his opinion. He attributed his success to Mohiuddin Wani, the GB’s chief secretary.
Gilgit-Baltistan will continue to experience expansion in the information technology sector and technological entrepreneurship, according to PSEB CEO Osman Nasir.
