The federal government of Pakistan declared a five-day holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr on Thursday. Vacations will be held from Friday, April 21 to Tuesday, April 25, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior.

Eid-ul-Fitr vacations dates

The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council (RHRC) stated earlier in April that the possibilities of Eidul Fitr 2023 coming on April 21, Friday were slim because the new crescent will be born at 9:13 a.m. on April 20 and its age will be less than 10 hours that day.

According to Mufti Khalid Ijaz, Eid ul Fitr 2023 will most likely be celebrated on April 22 following the completion of the holy month of Ramazan’s 30 fasting days.

He believes the Shawwal moon will not be seen on April 21 evening.

Eidul Fitr commemorates the completion of Ramazan, the holy month in which Muslims fast from dawn to sunset. Traditionally, the occasion is marked by prayers, family gatherings, and feasting.

Pakistan will shortly announce Eid ul Fitr 2023 vacations to help people schedule time spent with their families. These holidays are traditionally observed in Pakistan for three to four days, depending on the lunar calendar.

Every year, the government announces the dates of the festival holidays depending on the appearance of the Shawwal moon. The holidays are commemorated , the completion of the holy month of Ramadan.

Businesses and offices are closed during holidays, and people visit their families, give gifts, and share meals.
