According to sources, Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb declared on Monday that on the occasion of Pakistan’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, a cooperation with TikTok will be formed to instil patriotism in the young. A six-member team led by TikTok Regional Head of Asia Pacific Marriyum Aurangzeb met with the Federal Minister of Information.
Marriyum Aurangzeb stated that the government completely supports social media freedom but would not allow it to be used to propagate anarchy, fraud, or immorality in society.
Marriyum stated that the constitution of Pakistan safeguards citizens’ rights to freedom of expression and that illegal use of any position is not permitted.
The Federal Minister of Information stated that the public should be made aware of TikTok’s usage, and that the TikTok administration should prioritize public awareness in the local language.
Marriyum Aurangzeb stated that the TikTok management should take appropriate actions, emphasizing the need of providing security and education to young people who use TikTok to make films.
The Federal Minister for Information stated that the branch management may utilize the platform of the Ministry of Information’s Information Services Academy for awareness purposes, and that the cooperation sought to instil patriotism in the young.
The alliance, according to Marriyum, intends to develop patriotism among the youth.
According to the Federal Minister of Information, the health campaign might be carried out on TikTok in order to reach as many people as possible.
TikTok’s management stated that the app’s best job would be in mentoring the youth through a government collaboration, and that the platform could also play an essential role in promoting Pakistan’s culture and values.
