AVLS Utilizes NADRA Data to Monitor Stolen Vehicle Movement

Officials at Attock entry and exit points must use the smart verification alert system (SVAS) and the Automatic Vehicle Locating System (AVLS) to stop vehicle theft. Deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza and SP Investigation Javaria Jameel Ahmed gave these orders during a surprise visit to the Attock Khurd police checkpoint on Monday.

Ms. Ahmed told reporters that Attock police now use a smart verification alert system (SVAS) at entry and exit points. This system connects with the FIA, NADRA, immigration and passport office, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), and mobile phone operators to verify people.

“This system helps police find suspects, offenders, and criminals,” she said.

Ms. Ahmed explained that police have improved their search and checking system with software and biometric devices. Staff who know how to use computers now run these systems. The anti-vehicle theft units also have information on all stolen vehicles.

“We can check a vehicle’s details by typing its registration number into the system,” SP Javaria said. She added that the system checks details of more than 200 vehicles every day.

The AVLS is a website. It has a big database of stolen vehicles across the province. This includes reports of theft, investigations, and when vehicles are found.
