Google's Pixel Watch and Ear Buds will be controlled via your skin

According to recent rumors, Google’s much-anticipated Pixel Watch will be released this year. According to rumors, the watch will run WearOS and will provide a number of limited capabilities not found on other WearOS devices. A ‘skin interface’ will also be included with the gadget.

A patent filed by Google in mid-2020 was recently noticed by LetsGoDigital. “Skin interface for Wearables: Sensor fusion to increase signal quality,” according to the patent.

Whether the patent will be used for the Google Buds or the Pixel Watch is unknown. Users will be able to control the devices by tapping or swiping on the skin around them, according to the patent. Users will be able to tap on the wrist, forearm, or back of the hand.

The device’s built-in sensors translate movement into action.

Skin inputs might potentially be used to adjust the volume and songs on the Google Pixel Buds. By tapping on the skin near the ear, the earphones can be controlled.

The gestures function by using an accelerometer and other sensors to register the ‘mechanical wave.’ The technology has been dubbed ‘Sensor Fusion’ by Google.

The Pixel Watch and Pixel Buds will not be available until later this year.
