Google is considering a more sophisticated version of Assistant, powered by the most recent large language models (LLM) like those used in ChatGPT and Google’s Bard chatbot, which were obtained by the site. Mobile devices are the primary focus of the development, which has already begun.
As part of this change, Google is reorganizing its Assistant team. The corporation is “eliminating a small number of roles,” affecting an undefined number of employees, according to the email. According to Axios, “dozens” of employees have been let go.

Peeyush Ranjan, Google Assistant’s vice president, and Duke Dukellis, the company’s product director, wrote an email in which they reaffirmed their dedication to the product and their confidence in its future.
Although Google did not reveal specifics, there is a lot of potential for the future updates. The Assistant might be improved by incorporating the technology powering its artificial intelligence chatbot, Bard. This would allow the Assistant to provide answers by compiling data from a variety of online sources. This update has the potential to greatly increase the Assistant’s usefulness.
The exact date on which this technology will be included in Google’s smart home products is currently unknown. Many are worried about invasions of privacy that could occur as a result of implementing such a system.
