GameStop is now offering an Ethereum wallet

A non-custodial Ethereum wallet for crypto and NFTs has been created by the renowned video game store. GameStop, the world’s largest video game store, has released a non-custodial wallet that accepts NFTs and other Ethereum-based assets.

GameStop has announced the availability of an Ethereum wallet. In a Monday news statement, the California-based video game company announced the beta release of a non-custodial wallet that would allow “gamers and others to store, transmit, receive, and use cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens” across decentralized apps on Ethereum.

The wallet is accessible as a browser extension that may be downloaded from the retailer’s website. It arrives ahead of GameStop’s planned launch of the NFT marketplace in the second quarter of this year. Immutable X, an NFT-focused Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum that offers high-speed, low-cost blockchain transactions, will launch the marketplace.

GameStop is hoping that the new Ethereum wallet would help it expand its client base and draw them to its own Web3 application environment.
