Argentina’s soccer leader didn’t like how their game with Morocco ended at the Olympics. He said it didn’t make sense. Argentina’s coach also said it was a big problem. The soccer game stopped for almost two hours because Morocco fans came onto the field. They were upset about Argentina’s goal that the video referee canceled. Argentina lost the game 2-1.
“Our game had a big problem. This isn’t a small game, it’s the Olympics,” said Argentina coach Javier Mascherano.
Paris organizers are looking into what happened in Saint-Etienne. Argentina’s soccer group told FIFA they were upset and would keep the players safe.
“We waited almost two hours in the changing room. Morocco fans came onto the field. There was fighting with our team. Our players had to warm up again and play. The referee should have stopped the game. It doesn’t make sense and is against the rules,” said Claudio Tapia, who leads Argentina’s Football Association.
