According to details, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud held extensive discussions on a variety of political and security issues.

These discussions took place as the foreign ministers co-chaired the inaugural session of the Ministerial Committee of the Political and Security Pillar of the Saudi-Pakistan Supreme Coordination Committee, which was held here at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Underscoring the two countries’ long-standing fraternal and strategic ties, FM Bilawal Bhutto expressed his determination to further strengthen cooperation across the entire spectrum of bilateral relations in order to achieve the aspirations of the two leaders, achieve common goals, and push their relationship to new heights.

The two sides shared their assessment of the changing regional and global environments and reaffirmed their commitment to continue coordinating positions on all issues of mutual concern, including Indian-occupied Kashmir (IIOJ&K), Afghanistan, Yemen, and Syria.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad, the foreign minister reiterated Pakistan’s firm support for the safety and security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He emphasised the importance of continued cooperation between the two countries in combating terrorist groups’ efforts to undermine regional security and stability.

FM Bilawal also emphasised the importance of further strengthening institutionalised links between the two countries to counter security threats such as cyber security, counter-terrorism and its financing, organised crime, drug trafficking, and money laundering.

He expressed satisfaction with the two countries’ existing military and defence ties and emphasised Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation in this area.

The meeting was held within the framework of the Saudi-Pakistan Supreme Coordination Council, which is chaired by both countries’ Prime Ministers.
