During a two-day effort, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) seized Rs. 140 million in non-duty paid/counterfeit cigarettes.
FBR says
According to FBR, more than 679,000 Packerites (15,580,000 sticks) of non-duty paid/counterfeit cigarettes of various local and foreign brands (Business Royal, H&P, Platinum, Milano, and Olympic) were confiscated during a two-day campaign launched on February 14-15 by Inland Revenue Enforcement Network (IREN) teams in Peshawar, Multan, and Sialkot.

The estimated worth of seized commodities is more than Rs. 140 million, it added. The statement also stated that criminal proceedings have been begun against the manufacturers and carriers at the request of Member (IR-Operations) Mir Badshah Khan Wazir.
