FBR is accumulating data on dual-nationality tax officers and their spouses

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is gathering information on tax officials (Grad-17 and above) who have dual nationalities, as well as their wives.

According to FBR directives given to field formations on Wednesday, full information on the required format was requested in respect of all Cadre/Ex-Cadre/Regular/Contract officials of the FBR, including officers on deputation (BS-17 & above), and their wives.

However, information from the majority of the offices/field formations is still pending. The issue is currently before the Pakistan Information Commission, and a regular hearing has been scheduled.

As a result, the Member (Admn/HR) has mandated that every BS-17 and above officer(s) of all FBR cadres, whether regular, contractual, or deputationist, shall report to the Board by April 30, 2022, according to FBR.

In light of the foregoing, all Heads of Wings/Directorates/Field Formations are requested to provide the information in the prescribed format (copy enclosed) in respect of officer(s) under their administrative control by the due date, along with a certificate indicating that the requisite information completed in all respects with regard to all officer(s) under their control, FBR added.
