As of January 24, Expo 2020 Dubai had received 10,836,389 visitors, thanks to a stunning new musical by Indian talents Shekhar Kapur and A.R. Rahman, as well as a series of high-profile activities as part of the first Global Goals Week conducted outside of New York.
Visitors have safely enjoyed the approximately 200 activities being performed every day across the Expo 2020 Dubai site, which is four times the size of Dubai Mall and spans the space of 613 football grounds, thanks to strong COVID-19 preventative measures.
Why? The Musical, a mesmerizing show created by famous filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and Academy and Grammy Award winner A.R. Rahman, premiered on January 20 at Al Wasl Plaza, with over 100 performers, including Indian actor, dancer, and comedian Jaaved Jaaferi.
It will continue to astonish audiences until February 27th, with performances in English from Thursday through Sunday (excluding February 4-5) for a cost of 2000 GST. Visit www.expo2020dubai.com for more details.
The site came alive with post-it pledges and inspiring ‘to-do list’ activations, adding to the spectrum of engaging forums and panel discussions during Global Goals Week, which held from 15-22 January at Expo 2020 Dubai in conjunction with the United Nations.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were promoted throughout the Theme Week, which are a framework for attaining a better, more sustainable future for all by addressing global concerns such as poverty, inequality, health and education, and climate change.
Expo 2020 Dubai is committed to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), giving a platform to make a positive impact on our common future.
Expo 2020 Dubai is open to the public until March 31st, and it invites the entire globe to participate in a worldwide celebration that will help to define a brighter, better future for all. ‘Now or Never, Only Until March 31’ is the slogan.
