HMD Global recently made a notable announcement: they will enter the smartphone market with their own HMD brand, distinct from the classic Nokia name.

The first of their phones, possibly the first, is called Pulse. This phone received a lot of attention earlier this month after it was leaked. We expected it to be released in July, but it appears to be coming sooner – possibly this week.

This information comes from a listing that appeared briefly on Gigantti, a Finnish store.

They had all the information: specifications, a price of €179, and even a release date of April 24, which is this Wednesday. However, the listing has now been removed.

It appears that the listing was posted too early by mistake. We’re not sure if the release date was accurate, but we’ll find out soon. Regardless, the listing provided some information about the phone.

The HMD Pulse will have a 6.56-inch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1480 pixels. It features an IPS LCD panel with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a thick bottom bezel. It will be powered by the Unisoc T606 SoC and feature 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of expandable storage.

Capacity of 5000 mAh

The battery will have a capacity of 5000 mAh. It will feature a 50 MP main rear camera, a 2 MP depth sensor, and a high-resolution 50 MP front-facing camera. The fingerprint sensor will be built into the power button on the side.

As expected, it will run on Android, but the listing did not specify which version, so fingers crossed for the most recent Android 14. HMD has agreed to provide two Android updates and three years of security updates.

Pulse Measurements

The Pulse measures 163.19 x 75.02 x 8.55 mm and weighs 196 grammes. It has an IP52 certification, which means it is dust and splash resistant. HMD also claims that the Pulse phone will be easily repairable.
