The English Access Micro Scholarship Programme at Government College University (GCU) Hyderabad is a two-year scholarship for high-achieving, economically disadvantaged high school seniors.
This educational initiative is a collaboration between the United States (US) Embassy in Islamabad and local teachers with the goal of improving the English language skills of underprivileged youngsters.
The programme is open to both male and female candidates between the ages of 13 and 16, and it provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire the linguistic skills necessary for successful academic and personal development.
Courses in the programme are offered between the hours of 3:30 and 5:30 p.m., making them convenient for working adults. Candidates have until August 23 to submit their applications, and on August 28 they will be interviewed as part of the selection process.
Participants will improve English
Students in the English Access Micro Scholarship Programme are taught English in the hopes that it would improve their chances of finding employment or enrolling in higher education.
Participants improve their chances of being selected for future exchanges and US higher education opportunities. Since its beginning in 2004, the Programme has reached nearly 150,000 students from more than 80 countries.
