Emirates has won Emirates Best Airline Worldwide at the 2026 Business Traveller Middle East Awards, making it the 13th year in a row the Dubai-based carrier has taken home this top prize. The airline also won Best First Class and Best Airport Lounge in the Middle East at the same event.
Emirates Best Airline Worldwide for the 13th Straight Year
The Business Traveller Middle East Awards are voted on by real travellers and industry readers. Winning 13 times in a row is a huge achievement. Emirates Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim, accepted the awards on behalf of the airline at the ceremony held in Karachi on 30 June 2026.
Emirates was recognised not just for its flights, but also for its lounges and on-ground services. The airline’s First Class Lounge at Dubai International Airport won Best Airport Lounge in the Middle East. The lounge offers free spa treatments, fine dining, premium wines, and direct boarding from select gates.
What Makes Emirates First Class Special?
Emirates First Class is considered one of the best in the world. Passengers get private enclosed suites, which means a personal cabin with a door for full privacy. The menu is available on demand, so you eat when you want. There is unlimited caviar and Dom Perignon champagne on board.
Passengers also get luxury sleepwear and amenity kits made by Bulgari, a famous Italian brand. Skincare products are from Byredo, another top brand. On the Airbus A380, there is a Shower Spa and an Onboard Lounge where passengers can relax and socialise mid-flight.
First and Business Class passengers also get a chauffeur pickup and drop service in nearly 90 cities around the world. They also get access to Emirates Lounges in over 30 destinations globally.
Fleet Upgrades and New Technology
Emirates is currently upgrading 219 of its Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s. This means older planes are being fully refitted with new seats, screens, and cabin designs. At the same time, new Airbus A350 aircraft are being added to the fleet. These planes come with the latest cabin technology from day one.
More than 70 destinations now receive flights on these upgraded or new aircraft. This means a better and more consistent travel experience for passengers flying to, from, or through Dubai.
Starlink Internet Now on Emirates Flights
Emirates has started fitting its planes with Starlink internet. Starlink is a high-speed satellite internet service. Once done, Emirates will have the world’s largest Starlink-enabled wide-body international fleet. So far, 36 aircraft have been fitted with Starlink. Passengers can stream videos, play games, make calls, and use social media throughout their journey.
New Routes and Insurance Cover
Emirates recently launched a new travel insurance product called Comprehensive Travel Cover. This is an industry first, meaning no other airline has offered something like this before. It gives travellers extra protection and peace of mind when they travel.
Later in October 2026, Emirates will also start a daily flight to Helsinki, Finland. This will be the only year-round direct flight between Finland and the UAE, making it easier for people in both countries to connect.
Why This Matters for Pakistani Travellers
Emirates is one of the most popular airlines used by Pakistani travellers flying to Europe, the Americas, and other parts of the world. Dubai is a major transit hub. Better planes, faster internet, and improved lounges directly affect the travel experience for millions of Pakistanis who fly through Dubai every year.
The recognition of Emirates Best Airline Worldwide for the 13th time shows that the airline continues to lead in quality and service. With ongoing upgrades, new technology, and expanding routes, Emirates is clearly not slowing down.
As Adnan Kazim said when accepting the awards, these wins reflect the airline’s continued focus on improving the customer experience both in the air and on the ground.
