Musk said his concentration was presently on his SpaceX spaceship and self-driving Tesla automobiles during an energy conference in Norway.
Getting our Starship into orbit and making Tesla vehicles capable of self-driving are the two technologies that he is concentrating on, hoping to complete before the end of the year.
Musk also discussed fossil fuels, certain that he does not condemn them. Russia is reducing its gas shipments to Europe, which has resulted in record energy costs. He added that “we must have a clear roadmap to a sustainable energy future” and that “really, I think we need to use oil and gas in the medium term because else civilization would disintegrate.”
Tesla’s autonomous driving technology was another topic Musk spoke up. Under the assumption that the technology achieves regulatory approval, the CEO is focused on putting fully autonomous Tesla cars on sale by year’s end with a wider rollout in the US and Europe.
The remarks follow Musk’s announcement earlier this month that the cost of Tesla’s FSD beta software will increase to $15,000 in North America for the second time this year.
Dan O’Dowd, the inventor of the Dawn Project and CEO of Green Hills Software, is one individual who is not a fan of FSD. He is the author of a viral commercial that depicts cars in FSD mode ramming into kid-sized mannequins. A cease-and-desist letter was sent as a result, and in response, O’Dowd referred to Musk as a “crybaby” in his response.
