The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) claims that the monsoon rains have had a catastrophic effect. 86 individuals have died and 151 others have been injured since June 25.

Six people have died and nine have been injured as a result of the recent torrential downpours in the past 24 hours. According to NDMA records, the victims include 37 children and 16 women.

Furthermore, the country has been devastated by the torrential rains, which have severely damaged 97 homes.

Punjab Worst Affected Due To Monsoon Rains

With 52 fatalities, Punjab has been the worst-affected state. With 20 deaths reported, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has also seen a huge loss of life. Six fatalities have been recorded in Balochistan.

The NDMA issued a warning about the likelihood of devastating floods in Pakistan back in April. Chairman NDMA cited a number of variables that could cause floods during a briefing to a committee, including rising temperatures, glacier melting, and an early monsoon season.

The NDMA is working with other organizations to monitor 17 satellites and plans to set up 36 flood early warning systems in order to allay these worries.

The NDMA chairman emphasized that a repeat of last year’s flood occurrence might result in a severe economic crisis for the nation as he expressed his serious concern about the possible outcomes.
