At the Aviation Business Awards 2022, Dubai International (DXB) was named “Airport of the Year.” Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, got the award at a recent ceremony in Dubai.
DXB was recognised as the category winner due to its “unrivalled success” throughout the previous year.
The airport welcomed 28 million passengers in the first half of 2022, nearly three times the number in the same period last year, all while maintaining and improving service quality and guaranteeing a smooth travel experience for visitors across all contact points.
At the Aviation Business Middle, dnata was named Ground Support Services Provider of the Year.
dnata has been named Ground Support Services Provider of the Year at the 2022 Aviation Business Middle East Awards for the 12th time and third time in a row.
Jaffar Dawood, dnata’s Senior Vice President for UAE Airport Operations, who accepted the award on behalf of dnata, said, “Winning this honour for the 12th time is a recognition of our team’s outstanding efforts to consistently deliver world-class services for our airline partners and their customers. We will continue to invest in our people, infrastructure and equipment to be the best in everything we do.”
Over the previous year, dnata has extended its operations to support its airline customers’ growing flight operations at more than 120 airports worldwide.
This included the establishment of new, cutting-edge cargo facilities in London, UK, and Erbil, Iraq, as well as the expansion of its current facility in Dallas, USA. In addition, through a strategic acquisition, dnata expanded its cargo operations into Cologne, Germany, and announced a significant US$200 million investment in a fully automated cargo centre, dnata Cargo City Amsterdam, in the Netherlands.
