Cancer-treating technology CybeKnife to be used in hospitals, CM Punjab

On Tuesday, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, the chief minister of Punjab, gave his approval for the free use of cyberknife technology at Nishtar Hospital in Multan and Jinnah Hospital in Lahore to treat cancer and other complicated disorders.

The CM presided over a meeting and said that physicians will also receive training in the procedure.

The Punjabi government had also included this therapy in the health card scheme; therefore, the use of technology will be a significant step to assist patients.

The government would also consider awarding Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore, the status of a university, and necessary legislation will be completed following an early decision, he added. The conference was attended by the principal secretary of the CM, Muhammad Khan Bhatti, as well as the secretaries of finance, specialized healthcare, and medical education.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, the chief minister of Punjab, gave the appropriate authorities instructions to create the finest possible accommodations for those attending the yearly international tablighi ijtema in Raiwind.

The CM highlighted that a sizable number of people, from all over the world, were attending the yearly assembly while presiding over a meeting at his office to discuss the arrangements, security plans, and other matters. The CM requested that the administration finish the plans on schedule and to put CCTV cameras at the entry and exit points.

In addition to adding more patrolling police, more cameras should be deployed for this reason, he said, adding that more wardens should also be hired to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
