The 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) began yesterday with a star-studded inaugural ceremony at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

Arijit Singh, a famous singer, as well as actors Tamannaah Bhatia and Rashmika Mandanna, graced the occasion with electrifying performances.

The performances were well received by the crowd at Ahmedabad’s cricket stadium.

Arijit’s soulful performance opened the event. The singer performed popular tracks such as “Kesariya” from Brahmastra and “Jhoome Jo Pathaan” from Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan.

Arijit was applauded loudly by the crowd. Rashmika later took the platform and sang several hit songs, including “Naatu Naatu” and “Sami.”

Tamannaah Bhatia looked stunning in a silver bodysuit and delivered a magnificent performance of “Tum Tum” from the Tamil film Enemy.

However, the cash-rich franchise cricket was embroiled in a controversy after netizens accused it of stealing the inaugural ceremony of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8.

Fans on Twitter were quick to notice that they has also used drones to showcase its trophy, a technology that was first used at the PSL season 8 opening ceremony at Multan Cricket Stadium.
