The official version of OpenAI’s AI-powered chatbot ChatGPT has been released on the Apple App Store, and the company teases that an Android version will be available “soon.”

The crypto community is already very interested in ChatGPT and the developments in artificial intelligence, and some members have already used the emerging technology to develop totally new currencies.

An announcement made on May 18 states that the ChatGPT app uses OpenAI’s Whisper speech recognition technology to handle voice input and syncs user chat histories with its web version.

ChatGPT iOS App Version Availability Right Now

According to OpenAI, the software is already available to iPhone and iPad users in the United States and will spread to more nations “in the coming weeks.”

As the race for AI adoption continues, a part of Apple’s 2 billion active devices would have access to OpenAI’s chatbot app after a full global release.

For months, AI experts have been attempting to use chatbot’s features on their mobile devices, with many of them turning to a variety of quite difficult hacks in an effort to combine the chatbot with the iPhone’s virtual assistant Siri.

So far, using the Microsoft Bing app to access OpenAI’s GPT-4-powered chatbot has been one of the simplest ways to use the company’s software on a mobile device.

The mobile app version of Google’s recently developed Bard, which is now ChatGPT’s main rival, has not yet been made available.

Apps claiming to offer a service similar to OpenAI’s chatbot have proliferated in both the Apple App Store and the Google Play store; some have revealed to be copycat apps that charge an even greater subscription fee than chatbot itself, according to reports.

Existing ChatGPT Plus members will have early access to additional features, faster response times, and the capabilities of GPT-4 on their iOS devices.
