Senator Sherry Rehman, the climate change minister, issued a warning on Sunday informing the public that Pakistan would likely see severe rainfall and thunderstorms in the ensuing 24 to 48 hours. She urged the public to exercise caution.
“Forecast of rain impacts in the 24-48 hours in Pakistan. The highest amount of rainfall will be in Punjab’s cities like Lahore, Narowal, Sialkot. Other provinces have been alerted too for heavy to moderate rain,” she wrote on her official Twitter account.
Heavy Rainfall Alert Issued
According to Sherry Rehman, landslide warnings have been issued for cities and municipal regions that may experience urban floods due to rainfall.
“Coordinated preparedness and proactive responses save lives, so all response teams, both public and NGOs in the affected areas need to stay vigilant, ready,” she added.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has provided information about the recent rain-related deaths and property damage around the country.
According to statistics released by the authority, the torrential downpour caused 133 injuries and 76 fatalities over the course of the last two weeks.
According to the study, Punjab province reported the most number of casualties, with 48 people dying.
Twenty persons lost their lives as a result of the rainfall various incidents in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and five more did so in Balochistan. Moreover, 86 injuries were reported in Punjab, compared to 37 in K-P.
The deceased were 31 children, 30 males, and 15 women. In other situations, the rainstorms also harmed 46 children, 49 males, and 38 women.
In addition, 76 homes were damaged by the heavy rainfall, and over 44 livestock perished. According to the NDMA, Punjab sustained damage to 32 homes, while K-P sustained damage to 46 homes.
