According to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) data, the number of cellular subscribers and tele density in Pakistan fell for the second consecutive month in September 2022.
Pakistan’s cellular subscriber base fell by 0.61 million to 194.14 million at the end of September, compared to 194.75 million at the end of August 2022.
Cellular mobile tele density fell from 88.21 percent in August 2022 to 87.98 percent in September 2022. Total tele density fell from 89.4 percent in August to 89.17 percent at the end of September.
Pakistan’s 3G and 4G user base increased by 0.75 million from 119.84 million at the end of August 2022 to 120.59 million at the end of September 2022.
The monthly penetration of Next Generation Mobile Service (NGMS) increased from 54.35 percent at the end of August to 54.65 percent at the end of September.
Jazz’s total 3G user count fell from 5.653 million at the end of August to 5.456 million at the end of September, a 0.197 million decrease.
Jazz 4G users increased from 39.965 million at the end of August to 40.485 million at the end of September.
Zong 3G subscribers fell from 3.023 million in August to 2.933 million at the end of September, while 4G users increased from 30.218 million in August to 30.571 million at the end of September.
Telenor 3G subscribers fell from 3.365 million at the end of August to 3.260 million at the end of September, while Telenor 4G users increased from 22.523 million at the end of August to 22.534 million at the end of September.
By the end of September, there were 3.219 million Ufone 3G users, up from 3.398 million at the end of August.
Ufone’s 4G user base increased by 0.411 million during the review period, rising from 10.292 million at the end of August to 10.703 million at the end of September.
