CCD Kills Underworld Gangster in Lahore

Lahore’s streets once again echoed with gunfire as a prominent underworld figure met his end. Faizan Boxer, known within criminal circles, was killed on Friday during a police encounter with the Punjab Crime Control Department. The incident happened in the busy Ichhra area, turning an ordinary moment into a tense scene.

Police Operation Details

According to CCD officials, a Kotwali unit team was moving Faizan Boxer from Lahore to Sheikhupura for identification. As the police convoy passed through Ichhra, armed men suddenly attacked the vehicle. These attackers were believed to be Faizan’s own associates, trying to force his escape from custody.

Exchange of Fire

Police officers say they had no choice but to respond. A short but intense gun battle followed, filling the area with fear and confusion. During this exchange, Faizan Boxer was fatally shot. Investigators insist the bullets that killed him were fired by the attackers, not the police escort. No CCD officer was injured.

Criminal Background of Faizan Boxer

Police sources describe Faizan Boxer as a dangerous criminal with a long record. He was wanted in many severe cases, including murder, robbery, and armed attacks. Officials considered him a key figure in Lahore’s underworld, feared by rivals and known to law enforcement for years.

Similar Past Incident

Friday’s encounter reminded many of another high-profile case from the recent past. On October eleven, 2025, Khawaja Tareef Gulshan, widely known as Teefi Butt, was also killed in a reported CCD encounter. He was the main accused in the Ameer Balaj murder case.

Teefi Butt’s Return and Death

Teefi Butt had been brought back to Pakistan from Dubai after a lengthy extradition process. Just one day later, he was being taken by road to the CCD headquarters in Lahore. Near Kot Sabzal in Rahim Yar Khan district, gunmen allegedly linked to his group attacked the convoy, leading to his death.

Ameer Balaj Murder Case

Teefi Butt was nominated along with Khawaja Aqeel, also known as Gogi Butt, in the killing of Ameer Balaj. The murder took place near Thokar Niaz Beg in Lahore on February 19, 2024. After the crime, Teefi Butt fled abroad and was declared a proclaimed offender.

Ongoing Crackdown

Punjab Police say these incidents show their firm stance against organised crime. Through extraditions, investigations, and operations, authorities aim to restore order. The message is clear: old crime stories may linger in memory, but the future, they say, belongs to law and accountability.
