The Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) has revealed that it has removed chapters on the Israel-Palestine conflict and Gulf events from the History curriculum. This was announced today in Karachi.

According to the CAIE, Cambridge International periodically examines its course outlines and includes updates and revisions based on knowledge and issues that are currently relevant in the world.

CAIE Statement Regarding Curriculum

It went on to say that for disciplines like Pakistan Studies that are required to be studied in Pakistan, “we ensure that the syllabus content is prepared in compliance with the policy on the National Curriculum.”

According to the Institution, the Cambridge O Level History topic is a global subject that can be chosen by students but is not required of them in any country, including Pakistan.

The CAIE had earlier eliminated two chapters from the history curriculum, including “Israelis and Palestinians since 1945” and “why did events in the Gulf matter 1970–2000,” as reported by the local news agency on March 13.
