BYD Super e-Platform Opens Era of ‘Fuel and Electricity at The Same Speed’ with Megawatt Flash Charging

BYD Super e-Platform Opens Era of 'Fuel and Electricity at The Same Speed' with Megawatt Flash Charging

BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new-energy vehicles, has introduced its Super e-Platform, a breakthrough electric-vehicle architecture designed to eliminate charging anxiety. The platform achieves an industry-leading 1,000kW peak charging power, enabling it to add two kilometres of range per second. This translates to a five-minute flash charge for 400 kilometres of driving range—the fastest mass-production charging speed in the world.

1,000V Vehicle Architecture Matches Gasoline Refill Speeds

The Super e-Platform is the first mass-produced passenger car platform with an “all-domain kilovolt high-voltage architecture”, integrating ultra-high voltage across the battery, motor, power supply, and air conditioning. This innovation allows electric vehicles to achieve “oil-electric parity”, making EV charging as quick as refueling a gasoline car.

Record-Breaking Performance

Self-Developed BYD Charging Stations with 1,360kW Max Output

To support its ultra-fast charging technology, BYD has developed liquid-cooled megawatt flash-charging terminals capable of delivering a maximum output of 1,360kW. The company plans to deploy over 4,000 megawatt charging stations across China.

Dual-Gun Charging: Upgrading Existing Infrastructure

BYD has also introduced dual-gun charging technology, which can instantly upgrade:

Redefining Electric Mobility

BYD’s Super e-Platform, combined with its self-developed charging infrastructure, reinforces China’s leadership in global electrification technology. By delivering gasoline-like refueling speeds, BYD is accelerating the transition to sustainable mobility.
