BMW introduces a color-changing vehicle

An automobile that can change colors and exhibits digital capabilities like displaying driving information across the inside of the windscreen was unveiled by BMW on Wednesday.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, former Governor of California and an actor well known for his role as the “Terminator” in the movie “Terminator 2,” attended the presentation of this car, known as the I Vision Dee, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2023) in Las Vegas.

An automobile that could change color, but only from white to black and grey in between, was presented by BMW last year at the same event.

However, the new car’s body can be customized in a wide range of hues, including solid colors, stripes, and checks.

BMW I Vision Dee is now just a notion, but it is intended to influence the styling of the luxury automaker’s upcoming models.

For instance, it will be possible as of 2025 to have driving information, such as speed or direction, flash on the windscreen.

BMW has also suggested the potential of using “real and virtual worlds”-blending technology to show augmented reality graphics onto the windscreen, effectively converting it into a full-fledged screen.

According to BMW CEO Oliver Zipse, the goal is to leverage software to provide “the ultimate companion” that provides a customized driving experience. An acronym for “digital emotional experience” is “Dee.”

Schwarzenegger made light of a prototype that was loaded with cutting-edge equipment.

“I was a little concerned because, in most of my movies, the machine was the enemy. Now they are the allies,” Arnold said.
