Binance & Crypto.com will provide support for BNB beacon chain

On September 2, BNB’s Beacon Chain will undergo a major upgrade to a block height of 264,000,000.

The Gödel upgrade, named after Kurt Gödel, is intended to remove DEX features from the Beacon Chain.

The BNB Beacon Chain will be able to focus solely on security, freeing up computing power for other purposes.

“The BNB DEX has demonstrated its low-latency matching with large capacity headroom,” according to a blog post.

Because the BNB smart chain already has several decentralized and AMM exchanges that function flawlessly on it, the BNB Beacon Chain DEXs have less liquidity and usage. As a result, it must be disabled.

The DEX features, on the other hand, will remain active on the BNB Smart Chain.

Binance and Crypto.com will support the upgrade of the BNB Beacon Chain

Several exchanges, including Binance and Crypto.com, have stated that they will support this upgrade. Binance announced support for BNB Chain and BEAM network upgrades.

The Changpeng Zhao-led exchange will temporarily halt chain deposits and withdrawals before resuming them once the upgraded networks are stable.

Crypto.com also announced that all withdrawals and deposits via the BNB Beacon Chain would be temporarily halted to “ensure the safety of users’ funds during and after the upgrade.”

Crypto.com continued, “the trading of tokens available on the BEP2 network will not be affected during this upgrade.”

BNB smart chain vs. BNB beacon chain

The BNB Chain network has two block chains: BNB Beacon Chain and BNB Smart Chain.

BNB Beacon Chain is used to transfer BNB and other digital assets that adhere to the BEP2 token standard. This network’s addresses begin with “BNB.”

BNB Smart Chain is also used for digital assets such as BNB. These assets, however, are built on the BEP20 token standard, and BNB Smart Chain is also compatible with the Ethereum (ETH) Virtual Machine. Meanwhile, addresses on the network, like Ethereum, begin with “0x.”
