Despite making grand claims of improving the financial situation, the billionaire Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made the poor cricketers beg for money.
According to the details, the cricketers have not been paid monthly retainers or match fees for the last five months.
The prize money for winning the National T20 Cup has yet to be received by the Sindh Cricket Team. Surprisingly, the agreement was not sent for signature until after the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy had concluded.
Hundreds of cricketers lost their jobs as a result of the previous regime’s changes to the domestic cricket system, and their main source of income was lost due to the closure of departments.
Although current Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced the restoration of departmental sports, there has been no progress in this regard until now.
The current board management made grand claims about increasing player remuneration and revenue, but so far, no progress has been made.
According to sources, domestic cricketers have not been paid a monthly salary or a match fee since July, and this is the fifth month that they have been waiting for a check.
Unemployed players are finding it difficult to keep their kitchens running. The National T20 Cup final was two and a half months ago, and the prize money has yet to be paid.
