Bill Gates, the American business magnate and Microsoft founder, has arrived in Pakistan for a day-long official visit.

It should be noted that the philanthropist arrived in Islamabad, the country’s federal capital. At Nur Khan Air Base, he was greeted by government officials.

Gates will meet with Prime Minister Imran Khan, President Dr. Arif Alvi, and other senior officials during his brief visit.

The fourth richest person also paid a visit to a Covid hospital in Chak Shahzad, a modern suburb of Islamabad. Later in the day, he is expected to pay a visit to the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) headquarters.

Gates will be briefed on COVID pandemic preparedness and polio updates in Pakistan. After meeting with top officials, Microsoft’s founder will return this evening.

He maintained contact with PM Khan, assuring him of his foundation’s continued support, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

During a previous phone call with the tech tycoon, the Prime Minister discussed issues of mutual concern, such as polio eradication in Pakistan and the ongoing Covid-19 situation.

The premier praised the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s efforts to combat poverty, disease, and inequity around the world.
