BBC poll fails as voters choose the Qatar World Cup as the best event of the century

In a survey done by the official broadcaster of the United Kingdom, the BBC, fans chose the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar as the finest World Cup this century.

Prior to the tournament’s commencement, the Qatar World Cup was dogged by controversy due to extensive misinformation produced by the Western media. In a further attempt to draw attention to Qatar’s alleged abuses of “human rights,” BBC declined to broadcast the World Cup’s opening ceremony.

A few days ago, BBC held a poll on its website. The World Cup in Qatar received 78% of the votes from the audience, whereas the 2002 World Cup in Korea/Japan received only 6% of the votes.

Despite the controversy, Qatar hosted the World Cup effectively and provided fans with some breathtaking moments. A thrilling penalty shootout decided the tournament‘s winner following a 3-3 tie after extra time between Argentina and France, who were led by Lionel Messi.

A few memorable events from the 2022 FIFA World Cup were also pushed forward, including Saudi Arabia’s startling victory over Argentina, Japan’s improbable advancement to the round of 16, and Morocco’s historic march to the competition’s semifinals.

The complete poll results are as follows:

World Cup Hosts Vote Percentage
2002 Korea/Japan 6%
2006 Germany 4%
2010 South Africa 3%
2014 Brazil 5%
2018 Russia 4%
2022 Qatar 78%
