Customs officials in Lahore confiscated 400 kg of pork from a foreigner at the Allama Iqbal International Airport.
The specifics state that the customs officers learned that pork will be transported from Dubai on aircraft ER-724 a private airline.
The authorities stopped the smuggling attempt by interfering and seizing 400 kg of pork from the suspects.
Officials claim that the smuggler concealed the pork from the scanning equipment by wrapping it in 12 huge cartons of special black plastic sheets.
When Deputy Collector of Customs Saira Batool arrived at the airport, she caught the smuggler in the act. The delivery of the meat to other hotels was also reported.
Similar action was taken last week when Customs detained 500 kg of hog meat at the Islamabad International Airport.
A passenger on airline PA213 named Juping Liao was returning from Sharjah when his luggage was inspected. Pork meat did not match the requirements for acceptable baggage since it is illegal or prohibited in Pakistan.
Customs officers at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport seized a sizable amount of pork from visitors earlier in 2017.
According to officials, the family, who are not Pakistani nationals, was let to depart the airport without being subjected to any sort of punishment.
According to authorities, the family flew in from Urumqi. They stated that when officials searched their bags, they discovered 445 kg of pork.
While verifying the find, a senior Customs officer stated that the material will shortly be destroyed in accordance with the applicable rules.
