ARM, a British chip creator that produces CPU and GPU cores for almost all Android phones.
Just released its latest set of high-end CPU and GPU cores for 2024 flagship cellphones. The chips are the Cortex-X925 CPU and Immortalis G925 GPU.
36% Boost in Single-core
The CPU has a 36% boost in single-core efficiency over the prior model and can handle AI tasks 41% faster. ARM also announced a new structure for smaller A-series Cortex centres that improves performance and efficiency.
Immortalis G925 GPU
The new Immortalis G925 GPU enhances ray tracing for gaming by 52% and is 37% faster in terms of general graphics performance. This GPU will execute AI tasks 34% faster while consuming 30% less power on average.
To speed up device, ARM provides makers with a “optimised layout” that makes incorporating of these new designs.
While the exact brands have not been confirmed, phones with these cores are expected to hit the market by the end of the year.
MediaTek promises to incorporate them into their forthcoming Dimensity 9400 chipset, potentially positioning it as a standout performer in the smartphone industry.
