Apples AI options in iOS 18 might not released in EU

There may be a problem with Apple’s major AI feature announcement at WWDC last week in Europe.

Because of legal issues, the business is thinking about preventing the introduction of “Apple Intelligence” in the EU.

EU’s Digital Markets

Apple asserts that they may be forced to remove security safeguards in its goods and services due to the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA).

Particularly with regard to features like SharePlay Screen Sharing, iPhone Mirroring, and Apple Intelligence. Therefore, it’s possible that European consumers will lack access to these services at launch.

Here is what Apple said in a statement:

We are concerned that the interoperability requirements of the DMA could force us to compromise the integrity of our products in ways that risk user privacy and data security.

The move by Apple to postpone the launch in Europe will prevent hundreds of millions of people from using new features.

New Features with Apple’s AI

Like Apple Intelligence, iPhone Mirroring, and SharePlay Screen Sharing. Even though the company hasn’t explained how they might breach EU standards.

Apple is willing to work with the European Commission to find a solution and hasn’t taken a decision yet. This implies that customers in the EU may still be able to use these capabilities.

According to an Apple representative:

We are committed to collaborating with the European Commission in an attempt to find a solution that would enable us to deliver these features to our EU customers without compromising their safety.
