The 9th generation of Apple’s smartwatches is almost ready for release. According to Mark Gurman, the Series 9 may be the least significant redesign in the product’s history.

A faster CPU and new colour options are among the minor upgrades coming to the next generation of Apple Watches. If you currently have a 2022 watch, there is no use in purchasing a newer model.

According to rumours, this pattern has spurred Apple to have serious internal discussions about the possibility of extending Watch generations, a plan that would involve longer intervals between upgrades with more significant changes.

Apple is likely to keep to its annual release cadence, with the goal of luring customers away from other wristwatch brands rather than enticing current Apple Watch owners to upgrade more frequently.

The tenth generation Apple Watch is on the way, and it will be called the “Watch X,” as expected. Gurman claims the Watch X will be the most significant advance in Apple Watch history, especially in comparison to the Series 9.

This is in keeping with Apple’s plans for watchOS 10, a radical redesign of its wrist-worn operating system. However, watchOS 10 will not only be available for watches released in 2024; it will also be made available for previous models.

Apple will have significant changes

Apple is working hard to make a thinner case for the Watch X, and they’ve also introduced a new way to attach wristbands, which is a break from their prior design.

According to sources, the current procedure for attaching the band takes up too much room that could have been used for a more powerful battery. The magnetic attachment system is still in the planning stages and may not be ready for release next year.

With the Series 5 Watch, Apple was an early adopter of LTPO displays, and now the company is preparing to make another technological leap with microLED screens. The Cupertino company has been working on a blood pressure sensor for some time now, and it looks like they might have something ready for a 2024 debut.
