Apple may introduce two new Macs at WWDC 2022 including MacBook Air

Apple announced the Mac Studio and Studio Display at their spring event last year. Now, according to recent rumors, Apple may be planning to introduce two new MacBook during this year’s WWDC event in June.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who published the news in his Power On email, Apple will unveil two new Macs at the event. The launch date has also been confirmed by analyst Ross Young.

Apple introduced the M1 Pro and M1 Pro Max chipsets last year, followed by the 14-inch and 16-inch Macbook Pros. Similarly, the business launched Mac Studio with the M1 Max Ultra SoC.

Gurman states, “Apple is gearing up to launch some new Macs in the next few months. What better place to do so than WWDC? That’s the same venue where Mac’s transition from Intel to Apple’s own chips was announced two years ago.

I’m told there are two new Macs coming around the middle of the year or early in the second half. One of those is likely to be the new MacBook Air.”

Gurman feels the M2 series will be announced soon. He claims, “Other models in the works include an updated Mac mini and 24-inch iMac, as well as a low-end MacBook Pro to replace the aging 13-inch model. And let’s not forget that the new Mac Pro and iMac Pro models are in development.”

Apple is reportedly expected to release a revamped MacBook Air this year with an M2 CPU, but without some key Pro features including a mini-LED panel and ProMotion technology.

The invitations to Apple’s WWDC event on June 6 have already been sent out.
