It has been speculated that stacked battery technology, similar to that seen in electric cars (EVs), may be included in Apple’s forthcoming iPhone 15 series, which is expected to be delivered within the next several months.
A Twitter user by the name of RGcloudS recently spread speculations that the next generation of iPhones would feature this new type of battery technology, which would boost the phone’s storage capacity while keeping the device’s footprint the same.
Most electric vehicles use stacked batteries, which have multiple layers of components layered together. This configuration makes better use of available space, allowing for a larger battery to be housed in the same physical footprint.
Apple hopes that by implementing this technology, they would be able to increase the longevity of their devices’ batteries and boost their overall performance.

The leak also suggests possible charging rates, with cable charging reaching 40W and MagSafe wireless charging reaching 20W. These rapid charging capabilities are also anticipated to be made possible via a new protocol and power chip.
If these reports are true, the iPhone 15 range would have reached a major milestone with the inclusion of stacked battery technology, which will benefit all models rather than only the Pro variations.
