Apple users of iPhone 15 have reported troublesome wireless charging issues affecting the phone’s NFC module.
These problems were frequently linked to BMW’s wireless chargers, and it’s unclear whether they also affected other wireless chargers.
Apple Addresses Charging Issue With iOS 17.1.1 Update
Cupertino is now addressing these issues with the release of new updates for compatible devices, specifically iOS 17.1.1, iPadOS 17.1.1, and watchOS 10.1.1.
Furthermore, these updates are primarily intended to address significant and vexing bugs that have recently surfaced, with no major new features introduced.
A notable fix in iOS 17.1.1 is related to the Weather lock screen widget, which corrects inaccuracies in displaying snow conditions.
Furthermore, this update addresses a major concern for some users, specifically issues with Apple Pay and other NFC functions that were temporarily unavailable on all iPhone 15 models “following wireless charging in specific vehicles,” as reported by Apple.
Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues
Users have also expressed concerns about Wi-Fi connectivity issues and unexpected device shutdowns.
It’s unclear whether this update addresses these concerns, as Cupertino’s official changelog makes no mention of them.
The main focus of watchOS 10.1.1 is to address an issue that is causing rapid battery drain for some Apple Watch users.
The update also includes “significant bug fixes,” though they are not listed individually.
Precaution
If you’ve noticed a significant drop in battery performance on your Apple Watch after updating to watchOS 10.1, it is recommended that you install this latest version as soon as possible because it may help to alleviate these issues.
