The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max have recently entered the market, and there have been reports of discolouration on the new titanium frames of these handsets. Apple has now publicly recognised the problem.
iPhone 15 Pro with Discolouration
According to a new support document obtained by MacRumors, “for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, the oil from your skin might temporarily alter the colour of the outside band.”

Restore The Original Look
There’s no need to panic, though, because a simple solution is available. Wiping the handset’s frame with a “soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth”.
It will “restore the original look,” restoring your phone’s spotless appearance. Having said that, you may want to consider investing in a protective case for further piece of mind.
This year’s Pro and Pro Max phones are made of titanium with a brushed finish, rather than stainless steel.
This modification appears to be the cause of fingerprints becoming more visible on the surface. It should be noted, however, that these symptoms of normal wear and tear may not be a worry for everyone.
Because of the switch to titanium, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are lighter than their immediate predecessors and should be more corrosion resistant.
It’s also worth noting that this switch makes them somewhat thicker. The standard iPhone 15 and 15 Plus have age-old aluminium frames, thus there should be no discolouration.
