An American airline has expressed interest in operating flights from Pakistan, and formal contact has been established.
Ravn Alaska Airlines is eager to begin operating flights from Pakistan and has contacted the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
An American Airline To Start Its Flights Operations in Pakistan
According to reliable sources, the airline’s top management has requested a Third Country Operator License from the Civil Aviation Authority, as reported by the local news channel.
Though official details on the development have yet to emerge, the entry of an American airline into Pakistan’s aviation industry is a good news.
Prior to Ravn Alaska, a number of international airlines began operations in Pakistan.
Other Airlines Started Their Operations in Pakistan
Malaysian airline Batik Air, for example, announced the launch of direct flights between Pakistan’s financial capital Karachi and Kuala Lumpur.
Furthermore, Ethiopian Airlines has resumed operations in the country after a 19-year hiatus.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, a well-known airline, has also announced flights to and from Pakistan after receiving approval from the federal government.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is a low-cost airline in which the state-owned ADQ (formerly Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company, ADDH) owns 51 percent and Wizz Air Holdings owns the remaining 49 percent.
Azerbaijan Tourism
Furthermore, Azerbaijan recently announced that direct flights between Pakistan and Baku would begin soon in order to boost tourism, which is rapidly recovering as a result of the lifting of restrictions imposed following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Pakistan is currently dealing with the resumption of Pakistan International Airlines flights to the United Kingdom.
Despite the fact that the federal government has decided to privatize the carrier, the carrier is facing financial difficulties and has even grounded aircraft due to the same economic viability issue.
