By ordering the reinstatement of the fired PIA employees, the National Assembly’s (NA) special committee for impacted government employees took a major step on Tuesday.
The personnel had been accused of possessing false degrees, culminating in their dismissals. The NA committee made it clear that these employees and those who had retired under the Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS) must be reinstated.
The committee also directed that the affected employees’ prior personal numbers and rank be restored.
Yet, a clear instruction to refund the money from the early retirement program was given to the workers who had retired under the VSS.
NA Statement On Accused Fake Degrees of PIA Workers
The NA body also mandated the regularization of 2,600 Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority temporary and contract workers (PCAA).
The committee asked that the cases against the PIA employees relating the allegedly false degrees be dropped in order to further support their rehabilitation.
The NA committee has taken decisive steps to provide relief to the afflicted government employees, with an aim to bring back the PIA workers who were sacked on suspicions of possessing fraudulent degrees.
