German State Minister Dr. Tobias Lindner expressed his optimism that trade and investment will help build and grow the relationship between Germany and Pakistan at a meeting with Syed Naveed Qamar.
Qamar is in Berlin for an official visit as part of a European Union (EU) Outreach Tour. On Friday, he was welcomed at the German Federal Foreign Office, where he was visited by the German Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
Pakistan and Germany’s trade and investment ties are expected to strengthen and diversify as a result of the German Minister’s visit.
Bilateral ties were discussed, with an emphasis on strengthening trade and economic partnerships in the aftermath of the worldwide COVID outbreak in order to preserve economic growth. Both sides agreed to trade corporate leaders in order to find methods to collaborate on renewable energy, agriculture, food security, and automobiles.
At the same time, he thanked Germany for its ongoing support for Pakistan under the GSP Plus program. He emphasized GSP Plus, claiming that it has contributed significantly to the expansion of bilateral commerce and the creation of a more level playing field for Pakistan in the European market.
According to him, the initiative has resulted in significant societal transformations, particularly in the field of women’s empowerment. The German Foreign Minister reiterated Germany’s commitment to the GSP Plus Program.
