The Court of Judicial Magistrate Malir has adopted an authoritative measure to ensure a peaceful environment throughout the ongoing Independence Day celebrations. The court has declared a ban on the sale and purchase of ‘baja’ or horns within the city as a reaction to growing public complaints over disturbances created by the excessive usage of horns.

This judicial order stresses the significance of ensuring that residents can celebrate Independence Day in peace and safety. The court, citing Section 190(2) of the Penal Code, has ordered local law enforcement to investigate and prosecute those involved in the horn trade and use.

Court gave strict order

This prohibition has been given strict orders to be enforced by the Station House Officers (SHOs) of Shrafi Goth and Sachal. The court’s order highlights the importance of limiting access to and celebration with horns.

Recent years’ Independence Day festivities have been marred by widespread public anxiety due to the unchecked use of bugles and horns. The court’s action is an attempt to reduce the disturbance created by the unregulated selling of horns and other noisemakers and to lessen the volume of the horns themselves.
