Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has authorised the Tamgha-e-Shujaat civic award for Faisal Baloch, the brave driver who steered the flaming oil tanker away from a crowded location in Quetta.
According to local media reports, the brave tanker driver met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the PM House in Islamabad.
The premier expressed his joy in seeing Faisal and nominating him for the Tamgha-e-Shujaat for his valour. He referred to him as a true hero since he put his own life on the line to rescue the lives of many others.
At the Army’s Corps HQ in Quetta, Baloch was presented with a shield, a certificate, and a monetary prize on behalf of Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
After saving people’s lives in the country’s southern area, Faisal rose to prominence. When the vehicle caught fire at a fuel station, he drove a blazing tanker away from a crowded location on the Qambrani road.
The heroic driver also described the terrifying moments, claiming he was afraid the oil tanker would explode and kill him. He did, however, stress the importance of saving human lives.
Faisal drove the flaming vehicle about two kilometers away from the highly populated region, as passing motorists encouraged him to stop and jump as thick black smoke billowed from the tanker.
