8064 dengue cases in the Rawalpindi happening now

During anti-dengue monitoring, the District Health Authority has found dengue at 8,064 sites as of January 1, 2024.

Dr. Sajjad Mehmood, the district coordinator for epidemic prevention and control.

Reportedly told that 999 teams; (788 indoor and 211 outdoor teams) were monitoring the district to prevent larvae from reproducing.

Anti-dengue Monitoring

The health officer provided information regarding the dengue larvae found. Moreover 1,361 places found during outdoor monitoring.

And then 6,735 residences were to have dengue virus during indoor surveillance.

Working of 999 Teams

He informed people that the necessary work had already been completed and asked them to maintain clean water tanks and to avoid leaving any area damp or with standing water as these are the main causes of it.

According to Dr. Sajjad, the government is working hard to stop the spread of dengue larvae.

And lastly, no campaign could be successful without the public’s active involvement in it.

The dengue virus is a disease spread by mosquitoes that has become increasingly widespread globally in recent times.

The dengue virus is mostly spread by female Aedes aegypti mosquitoes and, to a lesser extent, Aedes albopictus mosquitoes.
