Pakistan’s first “indigenous” electric car manufacturer, Jaxeri Automotive (Pvt.) Ltd., intends to introduce a fully electric compact SUV there in 2025.

The chairman of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Muhammad Najeeb Haroon, recently paid a visit to the automaker’s regional Research and Development (R&D) center, according to a recent update from Automark Magazine.

The corporation informed the PEC chairperson of the advances in the auto manufacturing sector during the meeting. Additionally, it updated the chairman on the development of a tiny SUV that is entirely electric.

The SUV will be created and produced domestically, the firm representatives claimed. The SUV will currently debut in Pakistan in 2025, they continued.

On August 14, 2022, Jaxeri also debuted the Nur-E 75 electric hatchback prototype in Pakistan.

The DICE Foundation, a Pakistani-run non-profit organization with US headquarters, created the prototype. The tiny EV sought to enter the market for affordable cars.

With a top speed of 127 km/hr, Nur-E’s single electric motor has 107 HP and 200 Nm of torque. It has a 35 KWh battery, which the manufacturer says will provide a 200KM range.

The quick charge time is 2 hours, compared to the standard charge time of 7-8 hours.

The commercial manufacturing of the Nur-E 75 will begin around Q4 of 2024, with about 60% of its parts being made domestically, the Chairman of the DICE Foundation stated to the media last year.

Although the price of cars will skyrocket even further at that point given Pakistan’s economic trend.
